What this site records about you

Nothing that we could look at, and nothing that we have arranged to collect. Below is the technical position described honestly, rather than a template borrowed from a business with an advertising department.

No analytics platform is installed. No cookie is set. No script or asset is fetched from any host other than this one.

Measurement of readers

A publication that counts seconds for a living does not count its readers. There is no page-view counter, no session recorder, no funnel, no event tracking and no tag container of any kind on this site. We genuinely do not know how many people read a given review, and after two years the absence has never once changed an editorial decision.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies. The small script it loads handles three things: the navigation button on narrow screens, the current year in the footer, and the animated fill on the timing bars when they scroll into view. None of it writes to local storage, session storage or any database in your browser, and none of it reads anything placed there by another site.

Third-party assets

Every file needed to display these pages is served from this domain: the stylesheet, the script, the images and the icon. No content delivery network, no hosted typeface service, no embedded video, no social widget and no comment platform. Opening a page here produces requests to exactly one host, which you can verify in any browser's network panel in about ten seconds.

Server logs

The provider that serves these files keeps standard access logs, as nearly every web server does. Such records normally contain a requesting address, a timestamp, the file requested and a browser identification string. They exist for delivery and abuse handling, they are not joined to any profile, they are not consulted for editorial purposes, and nothing on these pages adds anything to them.

No accounts, forms or correspondence

There is no login, no newsletter, no comment thread, no rating control and no submission route on this site. There is deliberately no postal address, no telephone number and no electronic address in any page. Since nothing can be submitted, no personal information can be collected, stored, leaked or sold, which is a stronger guarantee than any policy statement.

Children

Nothing here is directed at children and no information is gathered from any reader regardless of age, so the question of verification does not arise in a form we could act on even if we wanted to.

Requests about your data

Data protection law gives readers rights of access, correction and deletion over information a publisher holds about them. We hold none. There is accordingly nothing to disclose, amend or erase on request, and that plain answer is more useful than a procedure would be.

If this ever changes

Should a measurement tool or an external asset ever be introduced, this page will be rewritten before the change goes live rather than afterwards, and the change will be described in ordinary language rather than added to a list of permitted purposes.
